All proceeds from entry fees to both the tournament and simul will go to help organizations assisting with the situation in Ukraine.

UPDATE 3/21 Based on feedback, we updated the beneficiary organizations for the event. All organizations below are non-partisan humanitarian groups, whose objectives are to help anyone regardless of nationality, religion, etc. Funds will be allocated to the following organizations:

    • UNICEF has continuously worked since 2014 to address the impacts of conflict in the eastern region of Ukraine. They have scaled their operations since the war broke out and provide healthcare support and other vital infrastructure to those that are displaced, particularly children and women.
    • HIAS is closely monitoring the situation in Ukraine and neighboring countries and is responding with emergency humanitarian assistance to those who are displaced. For more than 130 years, HIAS has been helping refugees rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.
    • World Central Kitchen is serving thousands of fresh meals to Ukrainian families fleeing home as well as people remaining in the country. Working at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland, WCK began serving hot, nourishing meals within hours of the initial invasion, and are now serving round-the-clock dishes at eight border crossings across the country.
    • Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) are working to rapidly scale up their medical and humanitarian response in various parts of Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, Russia, and Belarus. MSF is an independent and impartial organization committed to providing medical humanitarian assistance to people affected by the war no matter who they are or where they are.

We want to express our sincere gratitude to GM Zherebukh, GM Margvelashvili, IM Rosen, Cine City Studios, Tacos Marios, and artist Pat Marek for donating their time and resources to make this event something special for the community. If you see them around, please show them your appreciation!
